Ah, a new Jennifer Crusie. I've read a couple of hers that I'd recommend - Faking It is very good, and Welcome to Temptation is not bad either. I'll be interested to see what you think of Bet Me... :)
Also, I think 1 star should = doorstop. ;) or a waste of good trees...
